Across Florida: Commanderies Building Strength Through Fellowship and Instruction

From Southwest Florida to Plant City, Sir Knights continue gathering, learning, growing, and strengthening Templary throughout our Grand Jurisdiction.

Summer may traditionally be a quieter season for many Masonic bodies, but throughout Florida our Commanderies continue to demonstrate that the work of Templary never truly stops.

Recent gatherings at Fort Myers Commandery No. 32 and in Plant City offer two excellent examples of Sir Knights coming together for fellowship, instruction, membership development, and preparation for the important work of their Commanderies.

Fort Myers Commandery No. 32 Continues to Grow

August 25, 2026
Sir Knights of Fort Myers Commandery No. 32 gathered at their August 25, 2026 Commandery meeting

On August 25, the Sir Knights of Fort Myers Commandery No. 32 gathered for another strong Commandery meeting and continued the positive momentum taking place within their ranks.

Fort Myers Commandery is working not only to grow its membership, but to retain and engage its Sir Knights. Strong Commanderies are built not simply by welcoming new members, but by creating an environment in which Sir Knights remain active, involved, and invested in the future of the body.

The Commandery is also preparing its members to take a greater role in the ritualistic work by developing the ability to confer the Commandery Orders themselves. Building capable local Order teams strengthens the Commandery, develops future leaders, preserves the ritual traditions of Templary, and provides new candidates with a meaningful experience delivered by the Sir Knights with whom they will continue their Masonic journey.

A Strong Summer Conclave in Plant City

Summer 2026
Sir Knights gathered for a summer Conclave in Plant City, Florida

Summer can make it challenging to bring a full Conclave of Sir Knights together. Vacations, travel, family commitments, and competing schedules often make these months among the most difficult times of the year for Masonic attendance.

That made the recent gathering in Plant City especially encouraging. Sir Knights assembled for a full Conclave and received excellent instruction from the State Drill Master and District Deputy.

Meetings such as this demonstrate the value of continued instruction within our Commanderies. Drill, tactics, ritual, and proper Commandery procedure are skills strengthened through repetition, mentorship, and the willingness of experienced Sir Knights to share their knowledge.

Most importantly, the attendance itself speaks to the commitment of those present. Even during the quieter months of summer, these Sir Knights made the effort to gather together, improve their work, and enjoy the fellowship that binds a Commandery together.

The Work Continues Across Florida

These are only two examples of what is happening within Commanderies throughout our Grand Jurisdiction. Sir Knights across Florida are meeting, practicing, teaching, mentoring, welcoming new members, and preparing the next generation to carry the traditions of Templary forward.

Strong Commanderies Build a Strong Grand Commandery

Healthy Commanderies are built through consistent participation. They grow when new Sir Knights are welcomed, become stronger when members remain engaged, and endure when experienced Sir Knights teach others the ritual, tactics, leadership, and traditions entrusted to our care.

The Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of Florida congratulates the Sir Knights of Fort Myers Commandery No. 32 and our Sir Knights in Plant City for continuing that work and setting a positive example of active Templary throughout Florida.
