The Preservation of Hidden Knowledge
In 48 B.C., during the Siege of Alexandria, Julius Caesar's army set fire to the legendary Great Library of Alexandria, destroying tens of thousands of scrolls, priceless manuscripts, and sacred works that can never be recovered.
Historians believe the loss set humanity back centuries. Countless discoveries, philosophies, traditions, and mysteries disappeared forever, leaving us only to wonder what knowledge those ancient civilizations had uncovered.
The Cryptic Rite teaches us that wisdom is not merely discovered—it must also be preserved. Just as the Select Masters labored to safeguard the treasures hidden beneath the Temple, we likewise bear the responsibility of protecting the history, ritual, symbolism, and literature entrusted to our care.
What history could not preserve, we cannot recover.
